A weekly, fun-filled session of stories, songs, games and craft for 3-5 year olds, running during school terms.
Story Stomp runs every Tuesday morning at Newcastle City Library, 15 Laman Street, throughout the school term. It's a weekly session of stories, songs, games and craft, put together by Newcastle Libraries for 3-to-5-year-olds. The whole thing is designed to get little ones moving and thinking, with the storytelling, music and making all working together to stimulate and engage them. It's a high-energy half hour, so it's the kind of thing that works well for kids who'd rather be doing something than sitting still.
Because it's a drop-in session, there's no need to book ahead. You just turn up on a Tuesday morning during the term and join in. That makes it easy to fit around other things, and you don't have to worry about committing to a full term upfront if you're not sure how your little one will take to it. If you're already in the city on a Tuesday, it's a simple thing to swing by.
Every week we pick ๐ the 5 best ๐ things to do in Newcastle and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

Each session runs from 11:00 to 11:45 am, so it's 45 minutes in total. It's free to attend, and since it's a drop-in, you can come along as often as you like during the term. The library is at 15 Laman Street, right in the heart of Newcastle, so it's easy to get to whether you're coming from within the city or driving in from the suburbs. If you're looking for a regular morning activity for a preschooler, this is a straightforward one to add to the routine.
