A free open-air music experience featuring Kobie Dee and 92WRLD at Newcastle Ocean Baths, curated by Tim Levinson.
Kobie Dee and 92WRLD are playing at the Newcastle Ocean Baths on Friday 2 October, part of the SOAK series. It's a free open-air music experience, and the two acts share the bill on one night. The performance is curated by Tim Levinson, better known as Urthboy, with assistance from Matt Field and Katerina Skoumbas.
Kobie Dee is a Gomeroi artist who's built his name on storytelling and connection, and he's one of the more exciting voices in Australian hip hop. He shares the stage with 92WRLD, an independent collective known for rich harmonies and soulful Pasifika sounds. The two acts come from different corners of the scene, but the night is built on community and connection: two acts, one shared spirit. It's a First Nations, multicultural, and family-friendly performance, and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
SOAK returns to the Newcastle Ocean Baths, transforming one of the city's most iconic coastal landmarks into a free open-air music experience. The organisers encourage you to arrive early and bring a picnic to soak up the community atmosphere as the sun goes down. It's the kind of afternoon where you can settle in with a few friends and watch the light change over the water before the music starts.
