Sleapy's Day returns to Townson Oval this Saturday 18 July, the flagship event of the Sleapy's Foundation. It's a community fundraising day that brings together crews from across the region to raise money for individuals and families facing illness, hardship, or crisis across Northern NSW. The foundation describes this year's edition as 'better, brighter, and more meaningful than ever', and they're calling on the community to get behind it.
On the field, the main draw is a clash between Souths and Maitland, with the kick-off at 12pm. The action is split across Townson Oval and Souths Merewether, so there's plenty of the day to get stuck into. Beyond the footy, the day is about the fundraising: every dollar raised goes directly to people across Northern NSW who are dealing with illness, hardship, or crisis. Part of that goes toward helping cancer patients, and the whole day also serves as a tribute to four members of the Hunter community.
