A 12.5-kilometre community running event where participants tour Newcastle's favourite bakeries and cafes, sampling a pastry at each stop.
The Newcastle Bun Run returns on Saturday 19 September, a morning out for anyone who likes running and baked goods in equal measure. The route covers around 12 kilometres through Newcastle, with seven bakery and cafe stops along the way. At each one, you'll find a crowd-favourite pastry waiting for you.
It's a community event, not a race. There are no prizes for coming first, and runners of all abilities are welcome, so you can set your own pace and take the morning as slowly as you like. To keep things easy for the venues, the organisers pre-order the pastries and the group moves aside to keep the Saturday morning trade flowing. Your ticket covers the treat at each stop, which you can collect either as you go or all at once at the finish line. A Strava route is uploaded for you to follow, so you won't have to worry about getting lost.
