Stand-up show by Australian comedian Mel Buttle, billed as a TikTok star and TV star, with her new show 'Well, Sorry I Asked!'.
Mel Buttle brings her new show Well, Sorry I Asked! to Newcastle City Hall on Saturday 26 June 2027, starting at 7pm. It's a solo stand-up night, so it's just her on stage with a microphone and a full set of new material.
If you've come across her on TikTok, you'll know her as 'Lyn', the country's favourite online mum. That's the side of her that's gone viral, but there's a fair bit more to the picture: she's a television star and an award-winning stand-up powerhouse who's spent plenty of time on stage. This show arrives fresh from her opening for Jim Jefferies on his Australian tour, and she's bringing that same dry, blisteringly accurate stand-up to a brand-new set. Critics have described her act as 'sharp, clever and relatable', 'fearless' and 'authentic' — the kind of comedy that hits close to home and doesn't pull its punches.

Well, Sorry I Asked! is a new show, so you'll be hearing material she's been working on rather than a greatest hits of her online clips. It's a full evening of stand-up, not a short set, and the title gives you a fair idea of the tone: the kind of comedy that comes from asking the questions most people would rather leave alone. Tickets are A$55, and the show kicks off at 7pm at Newcastle City Hall.
