Third annual festival of artisan chocolate, desserts, live music, food trucks and market stalls at The Station, with masterclasses and kids' entertainment.
The Festival of Sweets & Treats returns to The Station on Sunday 11 October, from 9am to 3pm. It's the third year the festival has come to Newcastle, and it's built its name on exactly what the title says: a huge spread of sweets, cakes and chocolates. The organisers call it 'Newcastle's biggest & sweetest festival', and that's a fair summary of what you'll find on the floor.
The sweets are the main event. There's artisan chocolate and desserts, brownies, slices and cakes, liquorice and lollies. It's not just a few tables, either — it's a wide variety of makers and treats all in one place. And if you've got dietary requirements, you're covered: there are dairy-free, gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan options across the board, so you don't have to skip the sugar just because you're eating DF or GF.
There's more to do than just eat, too. The day includes kitchen demonstrations and masterclasses, live music, and interactive displays. For the kids, there's dedicated entertainment and a lolly jar guessing competition. Beyond the sweets, you'll find food trucks and market stalls, so you can grab a proper meal or browse some non-edible bits while you're there. The raffle prize draw happens at 1pm.

Entry is A$5 for adults (18+) for all areas, or A$10 if you're just coming through the gate for the food trucks and market stalls. Kids under 18 get in free. The whole thing runs from 9am to 3pm on Sunday 11 October at The Station.
