Drag Roast

The Drag Roast Tour is taking up residence at the Civic Theatre Newcastle at 375 Hunter Street, running from Thursday 20 August 2026 right through to Monday 19 July 2027. It's billed as an Australian first, and it's a long run, so you've got plenty of time to fit it in.

The show brings together the glitter and the gut-punching comedy of the roasting queen. The first half is the side of drag most of us know: some of the world's fiercest and most notorious roasting queens deliver outrageous performances, jaw-dropping numbers and scandalous stunts. It's all the glamour and the high-energy stage work you'd expect from a big drag production.

Then the mood shifts. The queens trade the glamour for gag-worthy insults and start roasting each other. No wig, no diva and no ego is safe. The whole point is that they're not just performing for the crowd; they're taking each other on, and the comedy comes from seeing them tear each other apart on stage. It's a bit of a double-bill in one night — the polished show first, the roasting second.

Because it runs for nearly a year, you don't have to rush to get tickets. It's at the Civic Theatre Newcastle, 375 Hunter Street, from 20 August 2026 to 19 July 2027.
