Three comedic styles unite for the Newcastle Comedy Festival: stand-up, storytelling and musical comedy.
Doing Great (Considering) comes to the Newcastle Comedy Club on Monday 2 August, as part of the Newcastle Comedy Festival. It's a lineup show built around the idea of keeping it together, and the bill brings together three different ways of doing comedy in one night: stand-up, storytelling and musical comedy.
On the bill are Scott Fowler, Huw Rogers and Brandon Duff. Because they each work in a different mode โ one with a mic, one with a story, one with a song โ the night doesn't just feel like three versions of the same thing. You get the punchy delivery of stand-up, the slower build of a story and the musical side all on the same stage, rather than one style carrying the whole evening. It's a lineup that lets you see how different approaches to comedy can sit alongside each other.
That's also why it's a good fit for the Newcastle Comedy Festival. The festival brings a range of acts to the city, and this one gathers three distinct styles into a single show. If you're usually drawn to one particular kind of comedy, you'll find it here, but you'll get the other two as part of the deal. It's a night that works whether you're there for the jokes, the stories or the music.
