Sydney indie rock band Civic Video bring their debut EP Making Room For Others to the stage, supported by Sugar Soap.
Civic Video play the King Street Warehouse on Friday 2 October, part of an east coast run following their debut EP, Making Room For Others. They're a Sydney indie rock four-piece fronted by Zac Newton-John, Belle Whitwell and Riley Maher, and this is their first time headlining their own room after a year of support slots and sold-out shows. The set will pull from the EP, with fresh songs alongside the tracks that first got people talking.
They've listed DMAS, Gang of Youths and Catfish and the Bottlemen as influences, and they describe their sound as pairing the emotion of Holy Holy with the energy of Sam Fender. The record was made with producer Izaac Wilson, who's worked with Rum Jungle and Sticky Fingers, and the track 'Shaky Hands' has already passed 400,000 streams. Reviewers have pointed to honest, heart-on-sleeve writing and a live energy that sits somewhere between intimate and anthemic.
Before this tour, they've shared stages with Daily J, Letters to Lions, The Vanns, South Summit and Beddy Rays. For this date, they're bringing Sugar Soap along to open the night.
