Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb bring their hit Australian podcast to the stage in a live show format at Newcastle's Civic Theatre.
Chat 10 Looks 3 is coming to the Civic Theatre on Saturday 3 October, bringing its live show to Newcastle. The night is billed as a live podcast recording, with journalists Leigh Sales and Annabel Crabb on stage together.
If the name sounds familiar, it's because the podcast has been running since 2014. It started as a rambling kitchen-table conversation between the two of them, and it's still going. The title comes from an obscure lyric in the musical A Chorus Line, and over the last decade it's covered a vast cultural terrain: books, films, recipes, theatre, visual art, television, dog preference, and how to pronounce Timothée Chalamet. It's grown into a cultural phenomenon despite still being just the two of them chatting animatedly.
The live shows have become a regular touring feature, and they're as famous for their audiences as for the two on stage. Sales and Crabb promise mayhem, book and TV talk, and the occasional special guest. The whole thing is recorded live, so you're part of the episode rather than just watching it.
