Casey Rocket - As Above, So Down Under

Casey Rocket brings As Above, So Down Under to the Civic Theatre on Friday 12 February, as part of a month-long tour across Australia and New Zealand. The show is presented by A-List Entertainment and runs from 7:00pm to 8:40pm.

Rocket performs under the persona 'Daft Rocket', and the set is billed as mostly improvised stand-up comedy. That's the key thing to keep in mind before you go: it's not a tightly scripted routine where every punchline is locked in. A good deal of what happens on stage is made up in the moment, so the show changes from night to night. If you've seen it elsewhere on the tour, the one in Newcastle won't be a carbon copy.

This run follows a sold-out run Rocket did across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne in 2025. As Above, So Down Under is a month-long trek of about 17 shows across 11 cities throughout Australia and New Zealand, with Newcastle being one of the stops. The Civic Theatre is at 375 Hunter Street, in the heart of the city.

The show starts at 7:00pm and wraps up by 8:40pm, so it's a fair bit shorter than a full evening's theatre. It's a single-act bill with Casey Rocket as the sole feature, and the whole thing is presented by A-List Entertainment.
