A day of burlesque workshops for all levels to move, shimmy and strut with confidence, led by the festival's international headliners.
The Australian Burlesque Festival is bringing a day of workshops to The Dance Establishment in Adamstown on Wednesday 7 October, with sessions open to all levels. The whole thing is built around moving, shimmying, and strutting with a bit more confidence, and it's aimed at everyone from complete newcomers to experienced performers. If you've ever wanted to try burlesque but weren't sure where to start, this is a good place to dive in.
The workshops are led by three of the festival's international headliners. Bonita Danger Doll comes over from New Zealand; she's known as 'The Queen of the Classic', an award-winning showgirl based in Christchurch who's been captivating audiences since 2010. RedBone arrives from the US, billed as 'The Cyclone of Burlesque'โshe's a 2019 Burlesque Hall of Fame Princess and was named one of the Top 50 Most Influential Industry Figures by 21st Century Burlesque Magazine from 2016 to 2023, with more than twenty years in the game. And Dolores Daiquiri is the Melbourne veteran, called 'Australia's Original Classic Tease Queen' with over two decades of experience; she's also a Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Australian Burlesque Festival itself, which is the country's original national touring burlesque festival.
