An uplifting, immersive dance experience that celebrates dance as a community unifier, featuring professional dancers and local artists, with a social dance afterwards.
Dance Makers Collective bring All In to Newcastle City Hall on Thursday 1 October, starting at 7:00pm. It's an immersive celebration of dance that puts the community at the centre, bringing together some of Australia's best dancers alongside local artists, and it doesn't stop when the performance ends — the night finishes with a social dance on the dancefloor, so you can get up and move yourself.
Miranda Wheen directs and choreographs the piece, with music by Fiona Hill. The whole thing is built around the idea of dance as a community unifier, and that's not just a tagline: the performance blends professional dancers with local performers, and the social dance afterwards turns the audience into part of the show. It's designed to be an uplifting experience, one that celebrates the simple act of people dancing together.
All In has been on the road for a while. It premiered at Sydney Festival 2025 at Parramatta Town Hall and has since toured the country, stopping in various cities and towns with cameo performances from people dancing along the way. The 2026 national tour is supported by the Australian Government through Creative Australia (via Playing Australia) and by the NSW Government through Create NSW's Regional Touring funding, and it's toured by Arts on Tour.
