Cameron Mackintosh presents a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's legendary musical at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center.
The Phantom of the Opera comes to Jackson Hall at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center for a run from February 3 through February 14, 2027. It's a revitalized new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical, the same one that reopened in London in 2021. This version keeps Maria Björnson's original design and draws on Harold Prince's direction, with musical staging and choreography by Gillian Lynne.
If you're not familiar with the story, it's based on Gaston Leroux's 1910 novel and set at the Paris Opera in 1881. It centers on a deformed musical genius known only as the Phantom, who tutors an orphaned chorus girl, Christine Daae, and becomes obsessed with her. The score is the part most people recognize, with "The Music of the Night," "All I Ask of You," "Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again," "Masquerade," and the title song. It's Broadway's longest-running show, and it picked up seven Tony Awards in 1988, including Best Musical, Best Direction, Best Music, Best Orchestration, Best Scenery, Best Costumes, and Best Lighting.
The cast for this run features Jordan Lee Gilbert as Christine Daae, Daniel Lopez as Raoul, and Midori Marsh as Carlotta Giudicelli. William Thomas Evans plays Monsieur Firmin, Carrington Vilmont is Monsieur Andre, Lisa Vromanas takes on Madame Giry, and Christopher Bozeka is Ubaldo Piangi. Seth Sklar-Heyn directs, with choreography by Gillian Lynne, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart, and a book by Richard Stilg and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
