A Tony Award-winning musical about a socially anxious high school senior thrust into the spotlight, presented by Nashville Repertory Theatre.
Dear Evan Hansen opens at the Polk Theater on Friday, April 9, 2027, and runs through Sunday, April 18. It's presented by Nashville Repertory Theatre, and the show takes about 2 hours and 35 minutes.
If you haven't caught it before, the story follows a socially anxious high school senior who's always felt invisible until a misunderstanding thrusts him into the spotlight. From there, one small lie spirals into something much bigger, and Evan has to decide who he wants to be and how to tell the truth. It's a look at being a teenager in the digital age, and it touches on connection, belonging, and the cost of being seen. The show won six Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The book is by Steven Levenson, with music and lyrics by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Jessica Francis Fichter directs, and Steve Kummer handles the music direction.
