Viva Knievel performs live at First Avenue as part of the Family Gathering Concert Series, a community music event.
Viva Knievel play First Avenue on Sunday, November 8, as part of the Family Gathering Concert Series. It's a free show in the Mainroom, with Brass Solidarity and School Of Rock St. Paul sharing the bill.
Viva Knievel is an American cover band that bills itself as an 8-to-100 piece, and they build their shows around a full horn section and earth-rumbling renditions of funk, soul and contemporary hits. They describe their sets as chaotic and daredevil, and their ranks include former members of National Recording Artists, White Light Riot and Mainstream. Brass Solidarity was founded in 2021 in response to the murder of George Floyd and the ongoing fight for Black lives, and School Of Rock St. Paul is celebrating the 20th year of its performance-based music programme.
The show is part of the Family Gathering Concert Series, a free nine-event celebration of live music, creativity and community staged at independent venues across Minneapolis by MNIVA, the Minnesota Independent Venue Alliance, in partnership with the City of Minneapolis. The series is aimed at getting kids, families and neighbors to experience local music venues in a new way.
