A burlesque show celebrating big acts, bold ideas and oversized props, with a special performance from The Rose Academy of Burlesque.
Too Big Burlesque comes to The Cedar Cultural Center on Friday, November 13, a burlesque show that takes its name from what it's celebrating: big acts, bold ideas, oversized props, larger-than-life performances, and unapologetic energy. The whole night is presented by The Cedar.
Leading the show is Petty Treason, a Minneapolis-based burlesque performer who's been on stage for more than 20 years. She's performed at the Colorado Burlesque Festival, Show Me Burlesque Festival, Minneapolis Burlesque Festival, Land of the Sky Burlesque Festival, Ohio Burlesque Festival, and The Shimmy Showdown. Beyond her own acts, she produces and emcees through Petty Treason Productions and works with Golden Garters Burlesque Revue. Since 2020, she's been teaching at The Rose Academy of Burlesque, which was founded by local burlesque luminary Deeva Rose.
That connection comes right into the show: along with Petty's own performance, there's a special set from a student group from The Rose Academy of Burlesque. So you'll see a veteran of two decades sharing the stage with the newer generation coming out of the academy where she teaches.
