Folk/Americana trio The Wildwoods perform live at The Cedar Cultural Center.
The Wildwoods play The Cedar Cultural Center on Wednesday, December 2, their only Minneapolis date that winter. They're a folk/Americana trio from Lincoln, Nebraska, and the lineup is a family affair: husband-and-wife duo Noah Gose on guitar and Chloe Gose on violin, joined by longtime friend Andrew Vaggalis on bass. The set will draw from their latest album, Dear Meadowlark, which they released in 2025 and describe as a love letter to the land that raised them. It's a record that fits right in with the rest of their catalog, which includes Sweet Nostalgia and Birdie & Goose from 2017, Across a Midwest Sky in 2019, and Foxfield Saint John in 2023.
Their sound is built on rich harmonies and heartfelt storytelling, with songs they describe as tales of home, hope, and the open road. They call the whole thing a journey through the heart of American roots music, and that's a fair way to put itβthe songs feel both intimate and expansive, and the trio's voices lock in a way that's a big part of the appeal. If you're trying to place them, their influences run from Watchhouse and Nickel Creek to Gillian Welch and David Rawlings, so you've got a good sense of the territory they cover.
They've spent the last few years sharing stages with artists like Mighty Poplar, Sierra Ferrell, Aoife O'Donovan, Melissa Carper, Jaime Wyatt, and Joe Nichols, and they've played festivals including Summerfest, FreshGrass, and the Oyster Ridge Music Festival. This stop at The Cedar is part of that same touring circuit, bringing their Nebraska-rooted sound to Minneapolis.
