The Jack Wharff Band, a Richmond, Virginia group blending bluegrass, country and rock, performs with special guest Jonas Conner at 7th St Entry.
The Jack Wharff Band plays 7th St Entry on Wednesday, October 21, with Jonas Conner opening. The band comes from Richmond, Virginia, and plays a blend of bluegrass, country and rock, known for electric live performances and masterful instrumentation. Frontman Jack Wharff grew up around bluegrass through his father's band, The Slack Family, and started writing his own songs in his teens. In 2023, he met drummer Garrett Howell and bassist Ryan Atchison at an open mic night in downtown Richmond, and the band formed instantly. Since then, they've released songs like "Picture Perfect," "Washed" and "Burnin' It Down."
Opening the night is Jonas Conner, who was born and raised in a small town outside Chattanooga, Tennessee. He's always been drawn to music and storytelling, though his first passion was sports. The two acts together bring a mix of bluegrass roots and songwriting to the bill.
