Chicago indie-rock band Friko perform their 'Something Worth Waiting For: The Tour' with support from Nine Perfect Lives at the Fine Line venue.
Friko play Fine Line on Thursday, October 15, as part of their Something Worth Waiting For: The Tour. They're a Chicago indie-rock band, and this is their second album. The first, Where we've been, Where we go from here, came out in 2024 and made best-of-the-year lists at Pitchfork and NME, with praise from Rolling Stone, Paste, NPR Music and SPIN.
Something Worth Waiting For was produced by John Congleton, who has worked with St. Vincent, Mannequin Pussy and Mogwai. The lineup has changed since the debut: guitarist Korgan Robb and bassist David Fuller joined during a tour that took them to Fuji Rock Festival and Kanda Square Hall in Tokyo, and saw them on the road with The Flaming Lips and Modest Mouse. Vocalist and guitarist Niko Kapetan and drummer Bailey Minzenberger both share lead vocals. Opening the bill is Nine Perfect Lives, a Brooklyn art-folk duo formed by Helena Straight and Stella Wave.
