The Blue Ox Jazz Trio, led by Jack Schabert, plays Vince Guaraldi's holiday score for 'A Charlie Brown Christmas' at The Parkway Theater.
The Blue Ox Jazz Trio plays The Parkway Theater on Wednesday, December 9, for a full run-through of Vince Guaraldi's A Charlie Brown Christmas. The original score came out in 1965 to accompany the animated television special, and it's since become one of the most recognized holiday albums of all time. You'll hear the pieces you know by heart: "Christmas Time Is Here," "Linus and Lucy," and "Skating."
The trio is led by Jack Schabert, a Twin Cities and Denver-based musician, composer, and educator. He's picked up composition awards from the University of Denver, Ithaca College, and the New York Youth Symphonies, and has played more than three hundred shows, sharing stages with Wynton Marsalis, Danilo Perez, and Melissa Aldana. Beyond the bandstand, he sits on the boards of the MetroNOME Foundation and the Twin Cities Jazz Festival.
