Singer-songwriter Teddy Thompson performs with opening act Jenna Nicholls at The Cedar Cultural Center.
Teddy Thompson plays The Cedar Cultural Center on Sunday, November 8, with Jenna Nicholls opening. Thompson is a London-born, Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter whom The New York Times called "one of the most gifted singer-songwriters of his generation."
He's touring his new album, Never Be The Same, his first collection of original material since 2020. The record centers on the refrain that gives it its name, and this show is one of the chances to hear it live.
Opening the night is Jenna Nicholls, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Irwin, Pennsylvania. She works with vintage genres, giving them a new spin with a lush, nostalgic style and a melodic sensibility that draws on the American Songbook in the spirit of Hank Williams and Patsy Cline. Her album The Commuter was produced by three-time Grammy winner Larry Campbell, and she's toured with Ingrid Michaelson, Glen Hansard, Lucius, and Joan as Policewoman, playing venues like the Beacon Theater and Carnegie Hall.
