Room3 closes out its November residency at Berlin on Sunday, November 29, with a night of all-originals. The quintet has spent the month playing several Sunday nights at the venue, each billed as a distinct installment, and this one marks the end of the run.
The set is built around the group's own writing, with the band digging up rare tunes from their catalog and testing out new compositions. The occasion is a celebration of their second full-length album, which they recorded recently. It's a good time to catch them if you've been following the residency throughout the month, as this is the night they lean most heavily on their own material.
The quintet features Eli Awada on keys, Beck Anderson on bass, Colin Mitchell on drums, Evan Espinoza Robles on percussion, and Mike Green on guitar. With two percussionists on the bill, there's a double-rhythm section at the core of the group, and the set will pull from both the older songs they've kept in rotation and the newer pieces they're still working through.
