Halloween installment of the Nocturne series of modern classical, ambient and electroacoustic music, with Liz Draper, drey dk and Lo Mismo.
Liz Draper, drey dk, and Lo Mismo play Berlin on Saturday, October 31, as part of the Nocturne concert series. Nocturne is a Minneapolis cycle devoted to modern classical, ambient, and electroacoustic music, and this Halloween installment is billed as darker and moodier than usual, shaped by Lynchian atmospheres and spiritualism.
Liz Draper has played alongside indie pioneers Low and the songwriter Iris DeMent. She put out her debut solo album, Meno, at the end of 2025 on Liatris Records, which she describes as "classicaldoomfolkjazz" and which Uncut Magazine named one of its highest rated albums of 2025. drey dk (Drey Darst Kereakos) is a Minneapolis indie songwriter and producer whose spacious, minimalist work is dominated by synthesizers. Lo Mismo is the atmospheric project of pianist Frank Hartman, whose palette has shifted toward the acoustic; joined by cellist Madi Wieczorek and violist Jake Gesell, the trio will debut compositions written between 2025 and 2026, inspired by film scores, the night sky, and a sense of drifting away.
