Jazz fusion tribute by the Room3 quintet, with Eli Awada, Beck Anderson, Colin Mitchell, Evan Espinoza Robles and Mike Green, as part of the band's November residency.
Room3 Collective brings their fusion tribute to Berlin on Sunday, November 8, from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. The show is part of the quintet's November residency, and the set is built around their own book of jazz fusion standards and deep cuts. They're paying homage to groups like Chick Corea and Mahavishnu Orchestra, so the evening leans into the complex, high-energy side of the genre.
On stage, the quintet features Eli Awada on keys, Beck Anderson on bass, Colin Mitchell on drums, Evan Espinoza Robles on percussion, and Mike Green on guitar. With both drums and percussion, the rhythm section has plenty of room to move, which fits the fusion style they're working from. The set draws from the band's book of standards and deep cuts, so you'll hear the well-known territory alongside the less-familiar stuff.

Berlin is at 204 N 1st St in the North Loop, and it's mostly a seated room with only a handful of standing-room spots, so it's a night better suited for sitting and listening than working the floor. Street parking is available around the venue. Tickets are $20 for general admission, and the music runs from 7 PM to 9:30 PM.
