Depeche Mode tribute show 'Strangelove' touring the band's 40-year career, headlining The Parkway Theater.
Strangelove brings their Depeche Mode tribute to The Parkway Theater on Thursday, February 4, 2027. They're touring as part of 40 Years of Music for the Masses, a show built around the band's 1987 album Music for the Masses and the world tour that followed it. The album came out on September 28, 1987, and gave us "Never Let Me Down Again," "Strangelove," "Behind the Wheel," "The Things You Said," "Sacred," and "Pimpf." It mixed synthesizers, sampling, industrial textures, and dark romanticism, and the tour it launched was documented in D.A. Pennebaker's film Depeche Mode 101.
Strangelove describes itself as the world's foremost internationally touring Depeche Mode tribute production, and the show is built around a theatrical stage show with custom-produced multimedia projection visuals. While Music for the Masses is the center of this tour, the set spans the band's entire career, from Speak and Spell through 2023's Memento Mori. They use as many authentic vintage synthesizers and samplers as possible to recreate the sound. Depeche Mode has sold over 120 million records and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year.
