Sapphoween: An Exclusively Sapphic Halloween Party

Sappho's Social Club is hosting Sapphoween, an exclusively sapphic Halloween party, at The Hook and Ladder Event Center on Saturday, October 24. The night is built around local drag performers and queer DJs, so it's as much about the dance floor as it is about the stage. Doors open at 9 PM, and the music kicks off at 9:30 PM.

If you haven't come across them before, Sappho's Social Club is a Twin Cities community dedicated to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and safe space for everyone who identifies under the sapphic umbrella. This party is built for that same community: attendees are asked to align with identities or terms under the sapphic umbrella, and the night carries a zero-tolerance policy for non-inclusion or hateful ideology. The bar is 21+, and capacity is limited to 100, so it's a smaller, more contained room than a typical club night. Box-office tickets are sold through The Zen Arcade.

There's a bit of a breakdown on how the ticket money works here, too. The prices cover the venue costs, the special guests, and the club's ability to host future free or low-cost events. With that in mind, guests are encouraged to bring cash to tip the performers. As for who's actually performing, the club announces its special guests and further details on Instagram @sappho_social.

Early tickets are $21 at the box office and $24 online; general admission is $25 at the box office, $28 online, and $35 at the door. The Hook and Ladder is at 3010 Minnehaha Ave in Minneapolis.
