RZ Shahid & Friends with Jandeltha Rae, Righteous Emcee, and Brandyn Lee Tulloch with Poetic Roots

RZ Shahid & Friends play The Cedar Cultural Center on Thursday, October 22, a night built around the music of RZ Shahid and a group of friends. The lineup blends reggae, hip-hop and R&B, and is described as a night meant to uplift Black talent and music in Minnesota. Joining Shahid on the bill are Jandeltha Rae, Righteous Emcee and Brandyn Lee Tulloch with Poetic Roots. Lenora Elaine hosts the evening, with sounds from Big Rich.

RZ Shahid is a multifaceted artist and creative entrepreneur from Minnesota who works across music, storytelling and visual art to craft immersive experiences. They've contributed to The Cedar Commissions (2024) and the Art Shanty Projects, and have put out a steady stream of recordings: the JTTX tape in 2018, the Leadfoot EP in 2019, and the Ahh Shii project in 2020. They returned to The Cedar Commissions in 2024, dropped three EPs in 2025—MOTION, SUMN TO SAY and Free Flowin—and released the single "TOMO" in 2026. As founder of Art Of Xanadu, Shahid champions art as a sanctuary and a catalyst for empowerment.

Jandeltha Rae is a multi-hyphenate storyteller from the southside of Minneapolis whose work centers on culture, identity, Black liberation, love, healing and womanhood. The night brings her together with Righteous Emcee and Brandyn Lee Tulloch with Poetic Roots, with the whole evening hosted by Lenora Elaine and sounds from Big Rich.

Doors open at 7 PM and the show runs from 7:30 to 10:30 PM at The Cedar Cultural Center, 416 Cedar Avenue, Minneapolis, MN 55454.
