Grammy-winning Western band Riders in the Sky mix holiday songs, Western classics and comedy in their Christmas show.
Riders in the Sky bring their holiday show, Christmas the Cowboy Way, to The Parkway Theater on Wednesday, December 2. It's an all-ages night, so it works as a family outing as much as a solo trip. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the music starts at 7:30 PM.
The set mixes holiday songs, Western classics, and comedy. You'll hear their own original numbers—Riding Home On Christmas Eve, Deck The Bunkhouse Walls, and The Last Christmas Medley You'll Ever Need To Hear—alongside traditional favorites like I'll Be Home For Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. The whole thing is framed as a holiday musical fantasy, so it's more of a staged production than a straight-ahead concert.
Behind the music are Ranger Doug, Too Slim, Woody Paul, and Joey the Cowpolka King. They've been singing together for more than 40 years and are known for their four-part harmonies, Western wit, and high-yodeling. Over those decades, they've picked up two Grammy Awards, membership in the Western Music Hall of Fame, and a number of Wrangler awards from the Cowboy Hall of Fame and Western Heritage Museum. They've also been honored by the Academy of Western Artists and enshrined in the Walkway of Western Stars.
