Minute By Minute: Doobie Brothers and Yacht Rock Icons

Minute By Minute: Doobie Brothers and Yacht Rock Icons comes to The Belvedere at Crooners on Saturday, October 17, a tribute to the smooth, polished sound of yacht rock and R&B. Presented by Crooners Supper Club, the show runs an hour and a half and is open to all ages.

The set pulls from a wide range of artists: Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, James Ingram, Patty Austin, Christopher Cross, Anita Baker, and Patty LaBelle. It's a mix of the soft-rock sound associated with the Doobie Brothers' later years and the R&B that crossed over into that same smooth, melodic territory.

Wayne Anthony and Cate Fierro lead the vocals, with Jack Cassidy adding in. Anthony is described as a vocal chameleon and producer, and Cassidy is noted for a vocal nuance that brings to mind Kenny Loggins. They're backed by a full band: Tony Axtell on bass, Kevin Anderson and Charlie Peterson on guitar, Michael Pilhofer and Ricky Peterson on drums, and Ronny Loew on sax. With two guitarists and two drummers on the bill, it's a larger ensemble than you might expect for a tribute night.

Doors open at 4:15 PM, and the show runs from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. Tickets are $35 to $45, and parking is free. There are no refunds.
