Stand-up comedy show in which former priest Tom Esch plays Fr. Vito, with music from Todd Anderson as Elvis and Miss Bunnyman played by Mary Esch.
Tom Esch brings Vito Las Vegas! to the Dunsmore Jazz Room on Friday, October 30, from 6 PM to 7:30 PM. It's a comedy show built around Esch as Fr. Vito, a character he's been playing since 2017. He's a former Roman Catholic priest, and he describes the show as a slightly unhinged evening of stand-up comedy, Elvis songs, and stories that probably should have stayed in Vegas. The act is a spin-off of Fr. Guido Sarducci, and Esch has taken it to Twin Cities rooms like the Bryant Lake Bowl, The Temple of Fashion in St. Paul, and Solomon's Porch.
He's not on his own for this one. Mary Esch joins him as Miss Bunnyman, a character she created for the show in 2018; she's been part of the Twin Cities performance-art community for 20 years. Sid Smaka appears as Frank Fuggadeli, and Todd Anderson takes the stage as Elvisβa role Anderson has performed in the Twin Cities for 26 years. Smaka studied music, dance, and theatre at the University of Minnesota.
