Live show by Mike Viola, producer and musician from Boston known for his work with Panic! at the Disco, at Icehouse Minneapolis.
Mike Viola plays Icehouse on Saturday, February 27, 2027. He's a Boston-born producer, musician, songwriter, and singer who's spent decades working across a wide range of projects, both behind the scenes and out front.
You might recognize his name from the credits of some pretty big names. He's worked with Panic! at the Disco, Andrew Bird, Ryan Adams, Jenny Lewis, Fall Out Boy, and Mandy Moore. That side of his career—the producing and session work—runs deep, but he's also put out a steady stream of his own music. He fronted the New York cult favorite Candy Butchers and has released several solo records, with The American Egypt (2019), Godmuffin (2021), and Paul McCarthy (2023) standing as some of his most well-known. All three were recorded at his own Los Angeles studio, Barebones.
His original songs have also found their way onto soundtracks, including That Thing You Do!, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, and Get Him to the Greek. His latest album, Rock Of Boston, came out on September 20, 2024. It was cut to 1/2" tape over the winter of 2023, with Jake Sinclair on bass and Brendon Urie on drums. He's already working on a follow-up, which is due out in the winter or spring of 2026.
