Indie rock singer-songwriter lily blue performs her Dog Years album release show with local support acts Mike Kota, Hazelcreak and mouthful at 7th St Entry.
lily blue plays 7th St Entry on Thursday, November 5, for the release show of her new album, Dog Years. It's a full bill, with Mike Kota, Hazelcreak, and mouthful opening.
Lily Blue has spent the last few years building a following in the Minneapolis scene by pairing warm, sentimental tones and wistful lyrics with indie rock instrumentation that she describes as melancholic whimsy. Her first released single, "August," blends the beauty of a moment with the grief of the ephemeral. Dog Years is the full-length record that follows, and this is the night she plays it out in full.
She's sharing the bill with three other local acts. Mike Kota is a Minnesotan indie singer-songwriter, guitarist, and producer whose lyrics and soulful melodies draw on introspection and healing. Hazelcreak grew out of singer-songwriter Benjamin Richter's childhood home and continues to reflect that idea of place. And mouthful is music made by friends for friends here in Minneapolis. Between the four of them, the night covers a fair bit of ground within the city's indie songwriting circle.
