Late-night jazz series by Berlin Music Project with a set by DJ JEN-E.
JEN-E takes over Berlin in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday, October 24, starting at 10:30 PM. It's part of the Late Night Lounge, the late-night jazz series run by the Berlin Music Project, which they've built as an after-hours jazz experience for the city's night owls.
JEN-E is the only name on the bill, and the set is a DJ set that pulls from a few different worlds at once: electronic music, jazz, and deep house. The three don't stay in their own lanes, so you'll hear them blended together rather than played one after another. It's the kind of eclectic mix that fits the late-night slot—jazz for the lounge side of things, electronic and deep house for the dance floor.
Because it's part of the Late Night Lounge, the whole night is framed around that after-hours jazz feel, and the 10:30 PM start time puts it right in that window. If you're used to jazz sets that wrap up by 10, this is the other side of the coin—music that starts when most other shows are packing up. The set is billed as an eclectic fusion, so it's as much about the electronic side as it is the jazz.
