Free in-gallery conversation led by Mia guides about women artists in the museum's collection.
Women Artists in Focus is coming to the Minneapolis Institute of Art on Monday, March 1, as part of the museum's In-Gallery Conversations. It's an in-gallery conversation that brings together the powerful perspectives of women artists from the museum's collection, so you'll be looking at the work while you talk about it.
If you've never been to one of these, here's how they work: they're part of Mia's free public tours program, which puts together themed walks to help you get a better handle on the museum's collections. During these sessions, Mia guides are stationed right in the galleries, inviting visitors to stop by, look closely, ask questions, and settle into a conversation inspired by the artworks on display. It's not a formal lecture; it's more of a guided, open-ended way to spend time with the art.

The format runs Thursday through Sunday, from 1 PM to 3 PM, so you can drop in when it fits your day rather than committing to a set start time. The conversation itself is free, and the museum is at 2400 Third Avenue South in Minneapolis. If you're planning to head over, the General Mills Lobby is where you'll find the starting point.
