Intimate cabaret in which jazz vocalist Nadine DuBois shares more than twenty years of her songs and stories with guitarist Robert Bell.
Nadine DuBois brings a new cabaret to Bryant Lake Bowl on Friday, November 6, titled I Probably Shouldn't Tell You This. She's performing with guitarist Robert Bell, and the set draws on more than twenty years of her songs and stories. It's a small room — about 85 seats and a 9' x 22' stage — so you'll be close to the performance.
DuBois is a jazz vocalist, actor, emcee, writer, and producer whose career in Minneapolis goes back to the early 2000s. In 2004, she became a founding member of Lili's Burlesque Revue, helping to build the modern Twin Cities burlesque scene. She's hosted the monthly Underpants Show at Bryant Lake Bowl for over three years and co-produced and hosted the Best of Midwest Burlesk (BOMB) festival. 21st Century Burlesque Magazine named her to its Burlesque Top 50 in 2011 and 2012, and her 2015 Grown & Sexy Pride event at First Avenue Mainroom sold out.
Robert Bell joins her on guitar. He's a Minneapolis bandleader whose jazz and swing work is rooted in the music of Django Reinhardt, and he founded the Twin Cities Hot Club. The two of them will be the only ones on stage for this one.
