Great Lake Swimmers perform their album 'Caught Light' live at The Cedar Cultural Center in an all-ages, standing-room show.
Great Lake Swimmers play The Cedar Cultural Center on Tuesday, November 10, as part of their Caught Light tour. It's an all-ages, standing-room show presented by The Cedar.
If you're not familiar, Great Lake Swimmers are an indie-folk group from Southern Ontario led by Tony Dekker. They first made a name for themselves in the early 2000s with atmospheric albums recorded in old silos and rural country churches, and they've spent the years since building a reputation for homespun folk and lush, intimate Americana live. Along the way, they've been shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize, nominated twice for Canada's Juno Awards, and called "a national treasure" by the CBC.
The tour is built around their newest album, Caught Light, which came out in October 2025. It was cut in just five days in Ontario's Ganaraska Forest with producer Darcy Yates of Bahamas and engineer Jimmy Bowskill of Blue Rodeo, and the band describes it as their most immediate and instinctive record to date. That forest setting fits right in with how they started, recording in the kinds of rural spaces that gave their early work its particular sound.
