Live music night with The Brothers Allmanac, Shoeless Revolution and Shane Cox & the Funky Spuds, paired with a winter essentials and food donation drive for unhoused neighbours.
The Brothers Allmanac, Shoeless Revolution, and Shane Cox & the Funky Spuds play The Hook and Ladder on Saturday, November 28, in the Theater room. The night is called "Getdown & Give," and it's more than just a concert: it's a community donation drive run alongside the local mutual aid group Community Kindness Project. They're collecting new or gently used winter essentials—coats, hats, gloves—and shelf-stable food for unhoused neighbors, so if you've got some winter gear to spare, this is a good time to bring it.
The bill runs from Southern rock to the dance floor. The Brothers Allmanac are a top-tier Allman Brothers tribute band known for authentic renditions of classics and deep cuts, with soulful guitar harmonies, powerful vocals, and extended jams. Shoeless Revolution are Twin Cities regulars led by Reed Grimm, Jack Kolb-Williams, and Ben Peterson, with guitarist David Feily; they mix rock grit, jam-heavy grooves, and R&B soul. And Shane Cox & the Funky Spuds build around the sousaphone and brass, fusing jazz, funk, and New Orleans swagger, with frontman Shane Cox on trumpet, trombone, and sousaphone.
