Concert by Francis of Delirium with special guest clovers daughter at 7th St Entry, an 18+ venue.
Francis of Delirium plays 7th St Entry on Friday, November 13. It's the project of Jana Bahrich, who handles nearly every part of the process herself: writing, producing, directing, and designing. That DIY approach is a good way to frame what she doesβshe's the one behind the songs and the sound, rather than a frontwoman for a band.
Opening the night is clovers daughter, the indie pop and alternative project of Minneapolis-based songwriter Noor Shami. A Palestinian-American artist, Shami's sound is described as blending the emotional honesty of Big Thief with the depth of Ethel Cain. If those two names ring a bell, you've got a decent idea of where she sits: somewhere between raw, folk-leaning songwriting and a more expansive, atmospheric approach to pop.
The venue is the smaller room attached to the historic First Avenue. Since 1980, it's occupied what was once the venue's restaurant area, the Greyhound Cafe, in the building's former Greyhound terminal. It's a compact space that keeps you close to the stage, and since it's part of the same complex as the main room, it's an easy spot to find if you've been to First Avenue before.
