Free book talk with author Fady Joudah about his collection 'Exhibit G', which documents Palestinian grief, resilience and life.
Fady Joudah will be at the American Swedish Institute on Wednesday, October 21, for a book talk centered on Exhibit G. The evening is presented by Milkweed Editions and Mizna.
Exhibit G is a collection of poems, essays, and photographs by Joudah, who works as both a poet and a translator. The book documents Palestinian grief, resilience, and life, and the talk is built around that material. It's a multi-form collection, so the poems and essays sit alongside photographs, and the evening will be an opportunity to hear him talk through the work and the themes it touches.
Joudah's dual role as poet and translator informs a lot of what he does, and Exhibit G brings together those different modes—the written word and the image—to look at a specific and ongoing experience of loss and survival. If you've been following his work or are interested in Palestinian voices and the way they're being documented right now, this is a good place to start.
