18+ Emo Nite dance party at First Avenue, with $1 per ticket going to the charity Gives A F*ck.
Emo Nite is taking over the mainroom at First Avenue on Friday, December 11. If you're not familiar with it, the first thing to clear up is that Emo Nite isn't a band and it isn't a set of DJs. It's a dance party thrown for the music the organizers love. It started as an impromptu get-together at a small dive bar in Los Angeles and has since grown into a following of its own, and this is its Minneapolis stop.
There's a charitable side to the night, too. A $1 per ticket transaction goes to Gives A F*ck, a charity that distributes donations to organizations focusing on mental health, harm reduction, children and families, poverty and homelessness, disenfranchised communities and terminal illness. So that extra dollar does something beyond the dance floor.

The night is hosted at First Avenue, the epicenter of live music and entertainment in Minneapolis since 1970, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. It's an 18+ event, and tickets are subject to a strict limit, so you'll want to grab yours sooner rather than later. Doors open at 9 PM and the show starts at 9 PM, with that $1 per ticket transaction going to Gives A F*ck.
