Live concert by singer Edwin McCain and the Edwin McCain Band at The Dakota in Minneapolis.
Edwin McCain plays The Dakota on Tuesday, November 2, at 7 PM. He'll be performing with his permanent band, the Edwin McCain Band, and the set will draw from his latest album, Lucky, alongside the songs that have defined his career.
McCain is an alternative and indie rock artist who's been at this for a long time. He signed with Atlantic Records' Lava Records in 1994 and put out his first major-label album, Honor Among Thieves, in 1995. That was followed by Misguided Roses in 1998, which gave him the single "I'll Be." He split from Lava at the end of 2001 and came back with the acoustic collection The Austin Sessions in 2003 and the studio album Scream & Whisper in 2004. His videography includes the DVDs Mile Marker (2002) and Tinsel & Tap Shoes (2004), and he released the album Lost in America in 2006. He was born January 20, 1970, in Greenville, South Carolina.
With Lucky as the main feature, the show will lean on his newest material, but he's not leaving the older records behind. You'll hear songs from the early Lava days alongside the later studio work and the acoustic side of things. It's a full-band set, so it'll be the Edwin McCain Band on stage rather than a solo acoustic performance.
