Easy Speak Comedy Showcase

Easy Speak Comedy Showcase returns to Volstead's Emporium Uptown on Wednesday, October 21, from 8 PM to 11 PM. It's Volstead's monthly comedy night, and this one falls on a Wednesday, so it's a mid-week thing rather than a weekend outing.

If you haven't been, the venue is Volstead's Emporium Uptown, located at 711 West Lake Street in Minneapolis. They bill the room as the city's hidden speakeasy, and the comedy is just one part of what they do there. The venue programs open-mic comedy alongside live jazz, classic burlesque, and touring musicians, so the comedy night sits in the company of a few different kinds of performance. Dinner and drinks are available to buy during the show, which makes it easy to turn it into a full evening rather than just a quick stop.

Admission is free, but you have to reserve your spot in advance. It's a monthly showcase, so if you miss this one, there'll be another coming up later. The show runs from 8 PM to 11 PM at 711 West Lake Street.
