Charity deadlift day hosted by Solcana Fitness, with more than 100 lifters, emceed by drag legend Dick Von Dyke and a halftime performance by King Molasses.
Drop Deadlift Gorgeous returns to The Hook & Ladder Theater on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM to 2 PM. It's a charity deadlift day hosted by Solcana Fitness, and the lifting happens outside on the venue's covered patio. The format is simple: more than 100 lifters each take on one big lift. Some step onto the platform for the first time, others pull 600+ pounds, and some figure out how to deadlift safely while wearing an elaborate costume. Local drag legend Dick Von Dyke emcees the day, with Kings of Drag star King Molasses performing at halftime.
Maxwell Poessnecker founded the event from the belief that trans+ people deserve the same chance to experience the confidence, friendship, and personal growth that sports can offer. It's open to all ages, and the money raised goes to PFund Foundation's TRANSCEND Fund, which backs organizations serving trans+ and gender non-conforming people across the Upper Midwest. Each year, LGBTQ+ community members take part in the grant recommendation process. PFund Foundation has been building equity with LGBTQ+ communities across the Upper Midwest since 1987.

Over the past four years, the DDG community has directed more than $350,000 to trans+ community care and won a 2025 Moxie Award. The event is free and open to the community, so you can stop by to watch the lifting, cheer on the participants, and contribute to the fund. You'll find it at The Hook & Ladder Theater, 3010 Minnehaha Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55406, on the covered patio from 10 AM to 2 PM.
