Debbie Briggs - Very Vintage Holiday Swing Dance

Debbie Briggs Vintage Jazz returns to The Hook and Ladder Theater on Friday, December 4, for their annual holiday swing dance. It's a Twin Cities tradition that's been playing to sold-out houses since 2021, and this year follows the same format: a free dance lesson to start the night, followed by a full evening of live music.

The lesson comes from Miss Shannon Butler, co-founder of the Twin Cities' longest-running weekly live-music swing dance, so it's a good place to get your footing before the band takes over. Once the music starts, Briggs and her group play a minimum of 105 minutes, broken by a 15-minute intermission, with the band continuing to play throughout the night. It's built for dancing, not just listening.

On stage, Debbie Briggs is on vocals, backed by Tim Kirchhof, Tim Zhorne, Matt Blake, and Dan Eikmeier. Special guest Sam Skavnak joins the lineup, along with singers Naomi Uyama and Katia Cardenas. The whole thing is for ages 21 and over.

Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM. Reserved VIP seating is $45 in advance at the box office, $50 online, and $50 at the door. General admission for the dance floor is $22 in advance at the box office, $25 online, and $30 at the door. Tickets are sold through the Zen Arcade box office with no refunds.
