Free, all-ages afternoon House music party with sets from local and guest DJs at Eat Street Crossing.
DayFunk is back at Eat Street Crossing on Saturday, October 25, for another afternoon of House music. It's a monthly party, so if you've been before, you know the drill: DJ sets run all afternoon, and the music stays centered on House. The sets are spread across the day, and the booth usually features local DJs playing alongside guests.
There's a specific ethos behind it that's worth mentioning, especially if you're not a regular. DayFunk is all-ages, and they describe it as a deliberately unpretentious affair—no velvet ropes, no attitude. They also keep the food and drinks free, which is a rare thing for a party like this. It's a House music afternoon you can just show up to without worrying about a guest list or a dress code.
Beyond the dance floor, the party keeps an archive of recorded sets from past editions. Those recordings come from headliners, residents, and surprise guests, so you can hear what's been played over the months even when you aren't there. It's a nice way to keep track of who's been through the booth.
