A dance music night presented by What the Dance, featuring tracks from Slayyyter and Charli XCX alongside hyperpop and club anthems.
DANCE 4 U: Slayyyter X Charli XCX Night takes over Fine Line on Friday, December 4, with DJs AYEEY0000, DJ_BUTANGEL420 and DIZZZYSPINS on the decks. The night is presented by What the Dance, an event series started in 2022 that curates parties around the artists and albums that make people move. The organizers have billed this one as 'The Worst Party in Minneapolis,' and they've added a little wink to the title: 'We only threw this party 4 u.'
The music centers on Slayyyter and Charli XCX, with the DJs spinning their tracks alongside hyperpop and club anthems from Kim Petras, SOPHIE, ADÉLA, SHYGIRL, Tinashe, Ashnikko, Horsegirl, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, PinkPantheress, Frost Children and more. It's a broad sweep of the pop-adjacent club sound, running from the high-gloss pop of Spears and Gaga to the more abrasive, distorted edges of SOPHIE and hyperpop. If you've spent any time in those circles, you'll recognize a good chunk of the names on the list.
