An Americana concert featuring Chicago Farmer & The Fieldnotes with special guest Thomas Sticha at The Cedar Cultural Center.
Chicago Farmer & The Fieldnotes play The Cedar Cultural Center on Saturday, November 14, with Thomas Sticha opening. It's part of the Homeaid Tour, and the band is billing it as their final Minnesota date of the run.
Chicago Farmer & The Fieldnotes is the project of Delavan, Illinois artist Chicago Farmer. The music is Americana, and No Depression once described it as "covered to the elbows in dirt from the fields and [smelling] of the sweaty factory floors." That description does a fair bit of the heavy lifting hereβit's the kind of sound that doesn't try to polish away the rough edges. The night is built around Americana, stories, and folk n' roll, and Thomas Sticha opens the bill.
