Minneapolis' premier David Bowie tribute band Cracked Actor plays a high-energy concert marking what would have been Bowie's 80th birthday.
Cracked Actor plays The Parkway Theater on Friday, January 8, 2027, celebrating what would have been David Bowie's 80th birthday. Bowie was born on January 8, 1947, in London, so the date is the whole point of the night. The band bills itself as Minneapolis' premier David Bowie tribute, and the set follows that through the different eras he moved between: Ziggy Stardust, Young Americans, and Let's Dance are all on the list, with additional Twin Cities musicians joining in for the evening.
Brian M. Naughton fronts the group, taking on Bowie's vocals, theatrical presence, and style. He's backed by a five-piece: Vince Ramone on lead guitar, Zack Scott on keyboards and rhythm guitar, Tom Dery on bass, and Edward Hiykel on drums. The show is framed as a high-energy, authentic live concert rather than a retrospective, and it's all ages, so it works if you're bringing the kids along.
