Candlelight tribute concert with the Listeso String Quartet playing Coldplay and Imagine Dragons anthems under LED candles in a historic Minneapolis church.
Coldplay and Imagine Dragons get a string quartet treatment at The Westminster Presbyterian Sanctuary on Thursday, October 22. It's part of the Candlelight series presented by fever!, which puts a string quartet in a room lit by thousands of LED candles. The Listeso String Quartet will be the one on stage, playing a program of anthems from both bands.
It's a tribute experience, so you're hearing the songs rather than the artists themselves. The two bands are a natural pairing for this format: Coldplay's melodic, piano-driven ballads and Imagine Dragons' big, rhythmic hooks both translate well to strings. The set will pull from both catalogs, so you'll get a mix of the two in one sitting.
The venue is as much a part of the night as the music. The Westminster Presbyterian Sanctuary is a historic church in downtown Minneapolis, listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its Gothic and Romanesque architecture. It's known for its circular design, stained glass windows, and acoustics, and it holds 1,500 people. The LED candles are set up throughout the space, so the room is lit by their glow rather than house lights.
